Hisakuni is a Shinto shrine dedicated to HOTEI,
protector of well-being and good returns,
symbol of “fukutoku emman”
which means “having perfect happiness and prosperity”.
Ōta Dōkan was a Japanese Samurai,
warrior-poet, military tactician and Buddhist monk,
also known as the architect and builder of the Edo Castle
(the current Imperial Palace).
He donated the sacred sword made by Hisakuni,
a Master swordsmith during the Kamakura Period,
hence the name of the shrine.
